i-70 pretty slow and heavy there but then it continues all the way down south toward clarksburg before that pace picks up so that's one slow ride coming south on i-270 this morning. let's take a live look outside and show what you it looks like if you're planning to head near route 109. this is basically what you have to deal with and that's what i was talking about down into clarksburg. this time out west. the one issue is westbound on i- 66. we'll go to our maps right now where there is a tractor- trailer stalled on the ramp to route 29 in centreville. inbound your delays are out of manassas into centreville. the lanes are open into fairfax. no problems on the beltway west side of town. we're going to end with a live look on the northbound side of i-95. i just want you to know the lanes are open. there are no incidents along your way early this morning. back to you guys. top story now, two secret service agents are under investigation and have been removed from president obama's detail following allegations of misconduct. >> this comes as the agency has been trying to repair its

reputation which was damaged during a prostitution scandal last year in colombia. delia goncalves is live at the hay-adams hotel with more. good morning, delia. >> reporter: good morning, andrea, mike. the secret service brought on its first woman director in its history, a woman very highly qualified but a woman they were hoping would help, quote, curb the male dominated culture of hard partying and other excesses. 53-year-old julia pierson was hired in march. that was just about two months before this incident here at the hay-adams. one night in may, hotel staff alerted the white house of some odd behavior by one of their secret service agents. veteran act assigned to the president's detail ignacia zamora was demanding to get into a woman's room. he left a bullet from his service weapon insides the room and tried to retrieve it when the guest refused to let him inside. the secret service did a routine check of his

blackberry. they discovered zamora and another supervisor timothy barraclough sent subjective sexually explicit e-mails to a female agent. zamora is off the job and barraclough was reassigned. what's the secret service doing now and what do they have to say about the behavior of some of their acts. we'll explore coming up in the next half-hour. >> thank you, delia, outside the hay-adams hotel. the u.s.s. george washington is now in the waters off the philippine islands. the naval aircraft carrier will act as a base of operations for the typhoon haiyan recovery effort. yesterday the united nations said 49,000 people in and around the typhoon battered city of tacloban have received food packs filled with rice and canned goods. survivors have complained about shortages of water, food and medical supplies. looting has been a growing problem in the hard hit areas. yesterday eight people were killed when a wall collapsed

during a stoop peed at a government -- stampede at a government food warehouse. hundreds stormed the warehouse taking 100,000 sacks of rice. an air force officer accused of groping a woman last mays that now been acquitted of all charges. it took an arlington county jury about an hour to reach that decision. 23-year-old woman claims lieutenant colonel jeff krusinski grabbed her in her rear end and breasts outside a crystal city bar. at the time he was leading the military branch's sex assault response team. after his arrest, he was dismissed from that team but again he was acquitted of all charges. 6:04. time for the latest your money segment. >> jessica is here with some headlines and another record breaking day. a lot of things happening this morning. good morning, jess. >> lots of stuff happening. we'll start with confirmation hearings. they begin with the president's pick to be the next head of the federal reserve. janet yellen has been meeting with senators ahead of the hearings. in prepared testimony yellen will tell senators she supports the fed's $85 billion a month

in stimulus. some members of congress say the bond buying program could cause runaway inflation in the future. supporters say it's needed to boost the economy during a slow recovery. yellen is expected to eventually win confirmation despite opposition from tea party members. a government report calling the transportation security administration program a big old waste of money. it's been ten years since the program started. in the decade, the agency has spent more than $900 million. congressional overseers say it is yet to prove the program is effective. so would you get a throat tattoo if it meant you could better communicate with your gadgets? not exactly a tattoo. it's technology google is working on right now. it applied for a patent for a

so-called skin at true. we'll show you the drawing and ten-page document. the tattoo basically sticks to your throat kind of like a sticker. you can put it on a collar or band as well and it would allow you to talk more effectively to your smartphone, gaming device, tablet or wearable technology like google glass. it can even supposedly be used as a lie detector by reading the amount of electricity being conducted by your skin. >> some sort of commanded robot. >> enjoyed in more ways than one. it's 6:06. for the past two decades a local group of women have been fighting against abuse. >> a group of teenagers happy to see flashing lights on a police vehicle? sounds strange, right? it's not. it's not. we'll explain why in

children. a group in d.c. decided it was time to fight back and knock out abuse. knockout celebrates 20 years of supporting abuse victims at its annual women only' vent that include -- women only event that includes a charity auction and spectacular entertainment. joining us is the senior vice president of government affairs at fed ex and david known for his women's wear and couture red carpet designs. i'm wearing one of his designs this morning and i'll have one on this evening and i'm pleased to be wearing this. thank you for taking part in knockout. i'm the emcee tonight. this is the second time doing this as a chair and it's a spectacular night unlike any in washington. what's planned for this evening? >> we have a lot of fun things planned. one thing we have planned, we don't normally have entertainment during the gala. but because it's the 20th anniversary, we've got a special treat for the ladies tonight. we're going to have four-time

then this evening, these are the temperatures, 47 by 7:00. 45 by 9:00. so, yes, you'll need something. i don't think the heaviest coat but light to middle weight jacket should do it for you. temps ins 20s and 30s just about everywhere east of the rockies this morning and especially when you get north of let's say i-20, east of i- 65. that's 27 in pittsburgh. one of the coldest spots ocean city. the airport there actually down to 24. himp just about -- high pressure just about overhead so with dry air, light winds, you get away from the city, temperatures really drop off. low 20s at dulles. germantown 18. now 27 in waldorf. dumfries is 23. the same up in laurel this morning and on the bay north beach, a frigid 28 degrees. one more look at that awe summer hor rye disop on our -- horizon. 31 this morning with a windchill of 26. we could handle that. only a light wind out of the west, southwest at 5 and the barometer is falling. 30, 35 as high pressure is

building away. wondering about more cold air? i'm looking up in canada. there's not that much. yeah, a little bit in extreme north central canada so arctic air here. but you remember last week, we had temperatures here which were minus 10, minus 20. now they're plus 12, plus 20 so there's no real deep arctic air that can come down any time soon. even though it's 33 in dallas and 30 in atlanta and a cold morning here, this cold is going to modify rather quickly over the next couple of days. also because not just there's no cold air there but even what's up there is not going to come down. see the clouds going west to east, that zonal flow will lock up even the moderate cold up into canada and allow the warmer temperatures in the southern u.s. to head our way. we'll climb today. yesterday 45, today 55. i think closer to 60 if not upper 50s tomorrow and 60s, low to mid-60s over the weekend. today looks fine. future cast is quiet. a couple of clouds here and there, that's it but a dry day. tonight we'll be clear and

of slow traffic. southbound i-270 at route 85 coming out of frederick, the accident is clearing but take a look at the delays from our sky 9 on the southbound side of 270. so this is basically what it looks like coming out of frederick. one long slow lineup right past the crash on 85 down past 109 all the way to 121 before the pace picks up in germantown so lots to consider early this morning. let's go back over to the maps and this time to 66. on the inbound side in centreville, there's a stalled tractor-trailer along the left side of the roadway right at route 29. so now it's beginning to slow down not only in manassas but really from gainesville. it's going to be all the way to centreville and then look at that. it's pretty much green all the way through fairfax. slow traffic here as well heading south on the beltway towards springfield. northbound 95 looks okay. we're going to take a live look one more time if you're planning to head here, you know, it's 6:00. this is what it always looks like coming up from dale city, woodbridge, lorton, newington,

we've got high today about 55 degrees. mike? if you can hear music in the backgrounds, that's a little tease. we'll let you know what that is. you will not want to miss the band coming up in about 15 minutes. blue lights in the rear view mirror can make you nervous sometimes but in today's cool schools, we're going to introduce you to some students who actually look forward to them. in some cases it helps them find a career. not necessarily in law enforcement. the big yellow bus making a stop in loudoun county, virginia. [ sirens ] >> reporter: a police presence at monroe technical center in loudoun county, virginia is a regular thing. the difference is the students here look forward to it. >> it looks good. i like it. >> reporter: they have a pretty impressive partnership with the men in blue. when sheriff mike chapman got these humvees from the department of defense, they

needed some work. >> there's a hole in that hood. you have to get fiberglass and lay it on there and sand it down and then paint it. >> reporter: students are getting job experience with a real customer and the sheriff's department gets the work done at a great price: free. >> when these vehicles came to us they were camouflage all over. they had to completely sand the vehicle down. they painted the vehicles and decalled the vehicles. now we can use these to inclesm meant weather. >> reporter: this partnership goes far beyond the garage, though. >> it initially came up to here. i used a tool to make it go all the way down. >> reporter: this group was an integral part of the pain to encourage teenagers to stop texting behind the wheel. now her layout work and marketing skill can is seen in every school in the county thanks to her poster. the partnership with the sheriff's department also laid the foundation for her future.

good morning. it's 6:30 a.m. i'm andrea roane. good morning. i'm mike hydeck. monika will have traffic momentarily and howard is outside on the weather terrace. >> bundle up with the the coat, ear muffs. a chilly morning with most temperatures in the 20s right now. on the plus note, we're going to have a sunny day and the winds are light in most areas. the calm even right now. that's also a good thing. here's a look outside on our michael & son weather camera. a beautiful looking sky across washington this morning. mainly clear. just a couple of high thin ones on the horizon. you can see what a pretty day we're going to have. temperatures will be running in the mid-50s this afternoon. so after this rather chilly start, sunny and milder, southwest winds 5 to 10. you see the clear skies overhead with clouds in pennsylvania tracking and diminishing as they head toward delaware. 18 now manassas. 21 culpeper, some of the colder readings. frederick and winchester at freezing. again after the chilly start, going into the mid-50s. let's send it over to monika

samtani and get another update on timesaver traffic. i'm going to start with a live look from our sky 9 on the southbound side of i-270. this is going to be at route 121 in clarksburg. this is kind of where it begins to break loose but really it's one long slow lineup from frederick all the way down to clarksburg and then here it's again picks up into germantown and rockville. let's go over to our maps. on the outer loop of the beltway pretty normal. slow traffic out of college park. your heaviest stretch is going to be right here at georgia avenue in silver spring where it's about 38 miles an hour. all of your northern maryland corridors other than 270 are in good shape. that includes 95 coming in from baltimore. over to the next map. on the bw parkway and route 50, no problems through cheverly. you have got that long-term construction zone on route 50 near new york avenue. and other than that in your northeast corridor, you're fine. all the anacostia river crossings are good. this is what it looks like if you're planning to head northbound on 395 in the shirlington area. no issues to the 14th street bridge.

right now the lanes are open across all the potomac river crossings as well. back to you guys. the obama administration released new enrollment numbers from the affordable care act. they aren't anywhere near what was expected. >> they had been trying to downplay it even leading up to the announcement. the administration says less than 27,000 people signed up for health insurance on the federal healthcare.gov site. andyational 79 -- an additional 79,000 enrolled in state exchanges operated by state governments. those numbers are 80% lower than what the white house was projecting. another scandal is swirling around the agency responsible for protecting the president. >> two secret service supervisors are being investigated for misconduct and inappropriate behaimp. delia goncalves is live at the hay-adams hotel near the white house and it's part of the investigation. >> reporter: the legendary hay- adams actually served as a temporary home of the obamas during the very beginning

stages of his first presidency and it's the center of yet another sex scandal involving some of the same acts charged with keeping the president safe. hotel staff told the white mouse back in may about senior supervisor ignacia zamora's strange behavior. he was demanding to get back into a woman's room one night. "the washington post" reveals when he was staying inside he unloaded his service weapon and later returned to retrieve a single bullet he left behind. that call sparked an internal investigation. the secret service checked out zamora's blackberry and discovered he and another supervisor timothy barraclough sent sexually suggestive e- mails to a female subordinate. isis a mora is now off the job -- zamora is now off the job and barraclough has been reassigned. the secret service only told the attorney general to investigate last month saying they handled the matter internally.

a spokesperson for the agent tess us, we have always maintained that the secret service has a professional and dedicated work force. periodically, though, we have isolated incidents of misconduct just like every organization does. knew, this comes about a year and a half after some other misconduct they would say. agents preparing for a presidential visit to colombia were busted with prostitutes. since that scandal a major shake-up within the agency and now they have hired their first woman director, a woman who comes to the agency with several decades of experience but a woman that they were hoping would help curb that male dominated culture and a culture of excess. mike, andrea, back to you. >> delia, thank you. it is time for the final your money segment of the morning. >> jessica joins us from the newsroom with headlines and how people are finding good places to work. good morning, jess. >> absolutely. good morning to boat of you. this year's list of -- both of

you. this year's list of best jobs features a number of jobs in the technical and medical field. they picked the top 100 jobs in terms of growth, pay and satisfaction. so what is the top job? biomedical engineer. it has a median pay of $87,000 with a ten-year job growth figure of nearly 62% and 15,700 total jobs. clinical nurse specialist came in at number twofold by software architect, general surgeon and management consultant. high-tech jobs made up six of the top 25 positions. remember those yoga pants lululemon had to recall last march because they were too shear? an improved version is now back on store shelves. they're called the second chance pants. they have an extra layer of fabric on the back and an added strip see through mesh along
